Beyond the Forecourt: Opening Pathways for the Next Generation in Cagayan de Oro

On January 20, 2026, Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI), together with Shell Pilipinas Corporation, joined LANDAS 2026: A Division Career Expo at the Schools Division of Cagayan de Oro, opening new perspectives for 120 senior high school students exploring their future paths.

At the Shell booth, students discovered a side of Shell that goes far beyond the forecourt. Through interactive conversations, they were introduced to PSFI’s work in education, skills development, and community empowerment. Programs such as Sanayan sa Kakayahang Industriyal (SKIL) and the Science and Technology Education Program (STEP) highlighted how Shell invests in building opportunities for young Filipinos.

For many, it was an eye-opening experience.

“Akala ko dati gas station lang ang Shell, pero may mga programa rin pala kayo para sa mga komunidad lalo na sa youth,” one student shared.

Moments like these reflect the value of creating spaces where young people can connect with organizations, ask questions, and see possibilities they may not have considered before. Beyond career exploration, the interaction helped students understand how companies can play a meaningful role in shaping communities and supporting the next generation.

Representing Shell and PSFI at the event were Pia Magpali, North Mindanao Import Facility (NMIF) Terminal Operations Supervisor; Mark Brazil, NMIF Community Coordination Officer; and Demi Nasol, PSFI Program Officer. Through their guidance and shared experiences, students gained insights not only into career pathways, but also into purpose-driven work.

While the event lasted only a day, its impact extends further. By opening conversations and expanding awareness, PSFI and Shell continue to help young people see that their future can be shaped by both ambition and opportunity.

Through initiatives like LANDAS 2026, Shell and PSFI reaffirm their commitment to building on the potential of the next generation, empowering them to move forward with clarity and confidence.
