PSFI and Shell Pilipinas Corporation Support Community Spirit at Puntod’s Dagan sa Baryo 2026

Story by Demi Nasol, Program Officer

Hundreds of residents took part in Dagan sa Baryo 2026 in Barangay Puntod, Cagayan de Oro City, on August 31, bringing the community together for a day of physical activity and celebration.

Held as part of the barangay’s 66th Charter Day, the fun run encouraged healthy living while giving residents, local leaders, and community partners an opportunity to connect.

Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI) and Shell Pilipinas Corporation (SPC) supported the event by providing rice prizes for a community raffle organized by the barangay. The contribution included three 10-kilogram sacks and ten 5-kilogram sacks of rice, adding excitement to the celebration and giving participants a chance to take home support for their households.

Among the raffle winners was Domenic Daumar, who shared his appreciation after his number was drawn.

“Salamat, Shell! Nalipay kaayo ko kay nabunot gyud akong numero ug nakadaog ko og usa ka sako nga bugas.”

“Thank you, Shell! I’m very happy that my number was drawn and I won a sack of rice.”

Joining the celebration were Demi Nasol, PSFI Program Officer, and Mark Brazil, Community Coordination Officer at Shell Pilipinas Corporation’s North Mindanao Import Facility (NMIF). They joined barangay officials and community leaders led by Barangay Chairman Alexis Dacer.

Beyond the run itself, Dagan sa Baryo gave residents an opportunity to connect with their neighbors and take part in a shared community celebration. The raffle added to the festivities, complementing an activity that encouraged both physical activity and community participation.

Barangay Puntod remains a partner in PSFI and SPC’s social development efforts. Through support for local activities such as Dagan sa Baryo, both organizations continue to engage with residents and strengthen their relationships with the community.

The celebration of Puntod’s 66th Charter Day brought residents, barangay leaders, and partners together, highlighting the community spirit at the heart of Dagan sa Baryo.
