Leadership Enhancement and Attitude Development (LEAD) Workshop

Leadership Enhancement and Attitude Development (LEAD) workshops are three-day psycho-social sessions that aim to instill appropriate values and work ethics, preparing trainees for their professional roles. It is a catalyst for personal growth and empowerment among various beneficiaries, like students, teachers, homemakers, farmers, out-of-school youths, and health workers. During the workshops, previous participants are invited to share their inspiring transformational journeys, igniting the spark of change in others.

For SKIL scholars, LEAD is integral to developing leadership potential and positive attitudes that will empower them to excel within the Shell value chain and embark on their journeys. In 2023, 123 SKIL scholars graduated from the workshop.

Shell-PhilDev Scholarship Program

EcoHub Program

The program aims to repurpose waste plastic into reusable ecobricks, which find utility in infrastructure projects at Shell Mobility Stations and other industries, promoting sustainability. In 2023, EcoHub initiatives in Cagayan de Oro and Batangas began their planning and development stages. Meanwhile, the EcoHub in Tacloban was formally turned over to the Habitat Village Homeowners Association.

Joblink Program

Joblink aims to assist SKIL scholars in finding employment after graduating. In Batangas City, the program upholds Batangas City Ordinance No. 8 by ensuring that 75% of industry workers at the Shell Import Facility in Tabangao (SHIFT) come from the local community. 

In 2023, the program aimed to employ 100 individuals, facilitated by partnerships with local barangays and the Sangguniang Kabataan. In response to local content challenges and high unemployment rates, PSFI launched a job fair and local recruitment initiative. The two-day event catered to 400 applicants from Batangas, facilitating opportunities for employment. EEI Corporation also organized a dedicated screening session for SKIL scholars who had recently finished their training. 33 scholars submitted pre-employment requirements at the event, with many now eagerly anticipating deployment.

Shell LiveWIRE (SLW)

Shell LiveWIRE is Shell’s flagship enterprise development program that aims to bolster local economies by promoting entrepreneurship, propelling innovation, and creating meaningful employment.

Acceleration Program

Shell LiveWIRE’s Acceleration Program is an intensive program designed to foster entrepreneurial growth and development in energy, environment, and circular economy. Participants benefit from robust mentorship, equity-free funding, and potential integration opportunities within the Shell value chain. 

The program attracted 219 applications, 141 of which were tech startups. Following a rigorous selection process, four tech startups and six community enterprises were chosen to pitch their innovations. The four selected tech startups received a monthly allowance of PHP 300,000 for product and business development after completing the program. Farmvocacy, Inc. was awarded as the Grand Champion and given an additional PHP 1 million prize, while each of the six participating community enterprises received PHP 100,000.

Community Enterprise Development (CED)

CED focuses on supporting promising community and social enterprises. Through the program, 20 individuals and one group business received training in 2023, with a significant portion engaging in mentoring activities—notably, the group business employed 16 women. The project prioritized sustainability, emphasizing community involvement and skill enhancement. Other activities in Pasacao, Calapan, Tacloban, La Union, Batangas, and Bacolod led to the development of various local enterprises.

Shell Value Chain

Participants in the Shell LiveWIRE programs are also folded into Shell’s value chain after they complete the training as part of the end-to-end support provided by the program. This opportunity fosters self-sustaining enterprises within PSFI’s communities, ultimately promoting self-reliance. Products from community enterprises in Rizal, Batangas, Bohol, Cagayan de Oro, Camarines Sur, and Palawan are now regularly included in the Shell line-up for corporate giveaways and are being rolled out in certain Shell Select stores.

Shell Value Chain

Established in 1983, the Sanayan sa Kakayahang Industriyal program tackles youth unemployment through technical training for out-of-school youth. Collaborating with educational institutions and industry partners, SKIL offers on-the-job training as well as information and communications technology (ICT) skill development programs, enhancing youth employability in call centers and animation studios. In 2023, 231 individuals from Batangas, Tagbilaran, La Union, Bacolod, Iloilo, Pasacao, and Tagbilaran participated in various trainings.
