Ang Kwento ng mga Kababaihan ng LAWPA

Sa isang bayan sa Camarines Sur, may isang grupo ng mga kababaihan na mahilig sumama sa iba’t ibang pagtitipon. Maging kasalan, birthday, o anumang okasyon ay hindi nawawala ang grupong ito. Isang araw, sa gitna ng kanilang masayang salu-salo, umusbong ang ideya na bumuo ng opisyal na grupo. Hangad nilang makatulong sa kanilang komunidad.

Sila ang LAKASAN—pangalan pa lang, sumasagisag na sa tibay at katatagan. Nagmula sa pangalan ng apat na barangay sa Ocampo, Camarines Sur: Lapurisima, Kagmanaba, San Antonio, at Sta. Isabel. Kalaunan ay tinawag itong Lapurisima Women’s Planter Association o LAWPA. Binuo ang samahan sa pangunguna nina Josi Hernandez, Rosita Ibarientos, Yolanda Riba, Anabel Iluha, at Rosana Marpuri.

Layunin ng LAWPA na tutukan ang pangangailangan ng kanilang pamayanan sa pamamagitan ng pakikilahok sa komunidad gamit ang kanilang lokal na kaalaman.

Sinimulan nila ang pagtatayo ng communal garden. Pinalalago nila ito upang magkaroon ang kanilang komunidad ng sariling pook-taniman ng gulay.

Ang kanilang mga ani ay inaalok sa public market ng Munisipyo ng Ocampo, habang ang ibang nalilikom nilang kita ay kanilang ibinabahagi sa Bicol Medical Center Hospital ng Naga City.

Bukod pa rito ay sinusuportahan din nila ang mga senior citizen sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng libreng gamot at grocery pack mula sa mga donasyon.

Handa rin silang magbigay ng tulong pinansiyal sa mga namatayan sa oras ng pangangailangan. Gayundin sa mga miyembro o interesado sa kanilang loan assistance sa “Project Tabang”.

Sa determinasyon at pagtutulungan ng LAWPA, patuloy silang nagbibigay ng inspirasyon sa kanilang komunidad.

Ngunit sa kabila ng kanilang mga adhikain, humaharap din ang grupo sa ilang mga pagsubok tulad ng kakulangan sa mga miyembro, kagamitan, at makinarya. Gayunpaman, hindi nila pinalagpas ang oportunidad na matuto para sa kanilang pag-unlad.

Kasama ang LAWPA sa mga nagsasanay ng Integrated Farming Bio System (IFBS) sa Shell Training Farm sa Bombon, Camarines Sur. Ito ay programa ng Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI) na nagsasagawa ng mga training tungkol sa sustainable practices sa agrikultura. Mabuting hakbang ito para sa pagpapalago ng kaalaman, kakayahan, at produktibidad ng mga magsasaka.

Dahil dito ay umangat ang kalidad at dami ng kanilang ani. Malaki ang naitulong nito sa pagyabong ng kanilang community garden.

Bukod pa rito, suportado rin ng PSFI ang kanilang Swine Breeding and Dispersal Project. Ang proyekto ng LAWPA ay nagbibigay ng karagdagang pangkabuhayan para sa kanilang komunidad.

Ang LAWPA—noo’y nagsimula lamang bilang isang balak sa isang kasiyahan, at ngayo’y

namulaklak ng kolektibong aksyon— ay isang magandang halimbawa ng kung paano ang pagkakaroon ng malasakit sa isa’t isa ang ating makakapitan upang harapin ang mga hamon ng lipunan.

Iyan ang lakas ng kababaihan.

From 2019 to 2025, the Shell NXplorers Program, implemented by Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc., equipped 2,716 students and 421 teachers across 101 schools with the skills to tackle complex real-world challenges. A Promise Fulfilled: Arlene Yago’s Journey as a 2025 SKIL Scholar

At 28, Arlene Yago chose to return to school, carrying with her the words her father once told her: “Mag-aral ka para sa akin.” A young mother from Pasacao, Camarines Sur, Arlene became a 2025 scholar of the Sanayan sa Kakayahang Industriyal (SKIL) program in Electronics NC II, stepping into a field she never imagined for herself.

Shortly after her training began, she lost her father. Instead of stopping, she pressed on, honoring his dream through perseverance and hard work. Today, Arlene’s journey is more than a certification earned. It is a promise fulfilled and a future steadily being built for her family.

Shell LiveWire 2025: Growing Enterprises, Powering Possibilities

From 2020 to 2025, Shell LiveWire supported 157 Community Enterprises and 26 Tech Startups nationwide. In 2025 alone, the program reached 47 community enterprises, provided startup capital to 42 enterprises, and awarded equity-free grants to five tech startups across 10 sites nationwide.

Through structured training, mentorship, and partnerships with LGUs, national agencies, and innovation hubs, Shell LiveWire helps Filipino entrepreneurs strengthen livelihoods, create jobs, and develop solutions that enable communities to thrive.

Building Better Pathways, One Ecobrick at a Time

In Batangas City, discarded plastic was transformed into safer walkways for children through an Ecobrick Laying Activity led by Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI), together with Shell Business Operations and Shell Import Facility Tabangao. With 5,000 ecobricks turned over and 57 volunteers working side by side, school pathways at Tabangao Ambulong Elementary School and San Isidro Day Care Center were strengthened—creating cleaner, safer spaces for learning and play.

Nourishing Young Lives: Thaison Volunteers Bring Care and Nutrition to RTS Light in Mabalacat City

On January 27, 2026, the Family Care Center in Marcos Village, Mabalacat City, became a space of shared care and learning through the Roots to Shoots (RTS) Light Program. Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI), with the support of Thaison Builders and Developer, Inc. (TBDI), Clark Development Corporation, Barangay Nutrition and Health Workers, FCC teachers, and parent volunteers, conducted a nutrition-focused feeding activity for 25 pre-school children.

Building on hands-on volunteerism, TBDI staff helped prepare and serve nutrient-rich meals, then led a storytelling session that reinforced positive values and healthy habits. The activity also strengthened parental awareness through short, interactive nutrition education led by health workers, reflecting RTS Light’s goal of nourishing children while deepening community participation and ownership.

Through Unlad Sa Pasada (USP) of Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc., and with the support of the Benita and Catalino Yap Foundation (BCYF), John gained not only financial assistance but structured entrepreneurial training that transformed his mindset, formalized his operations, and strengthened his long-term vision.
