PSFI and SPC Support Brigada Eskwela Through Bayanihan Bulilit in Pasacao

Story by Jansseen Balancio, PSFI Program Officer

PASACAO, CAMARINES SUR, June 5, 2026 — Demonstrating their shared commitment to education and community development, Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI) and Shell Pilipinas Corporation (SPC), through the participation of employees from the Shell Pasacao Terminal, supported this year’s Brigada Eskwela through the Bayanihan Bulilit initiative, helping prepare learning spaces for young children ahead of the new school year.

As part of the initiative, school and office supplies were provided to six Child Development Centers, one in Sta. Rosa del Sur and five in Caranan, to support learning activities and day-to-day operations. Paint and cleaning materials were also distributed to help improve classroom conditions, creating safer, cleaner, and more welcoming environments for learners.

The activity brought together employees, scholars, local leaders, and community members in a collective effort to enhance early childhood learning facilities. Ten volunteers, including five employees from the Shell Pasacao Terminal and five SKIL Scholars, joined community stakeholders in preparing the classrooms. Their efforts were complemented by the participation of 35 community members, with representatives from Sta. Rosa del Sur and Caranan actively contributing to the activity.

The initiative also highlighted the importance of local partnerships in advancing education. In Sta. Rosa del Sur, the Child Development Worker played an active role in the activity. In Caranan, the effort was supported by the Punong Barangay, Barangay Council members, barangay staff, and Child Development Workers, reflecting a shared commitment to creating better learning opportunities for children.

Through these collective efforts, 243 young learners will begin the school year in more conducive and engaging learning environments designed to support their growth and development.

More than a one-time activity, Bayanihan Bulilit serves as an ongoing partnership among PSFI, SPC, local government units, and community stakeholders. Through the continuous provision of learning resources, classroom improvement initiatives, and community engagement activities, the program helps strengthen the foundations of early childhood education in partner communities.

By bringing together volunteers, local leaders, and community partners, Bayanihan Bulilit demonstrates the enduring spirit of bayanihan, proving that when communities work together, they can create meaningful and lasting opportunities for the next generation.
