Standing Together in Times of Need: PSFI Extends Relief to Families Affected by Typhoon Ompong in Calapan

Calapan | September 26, 2025

A total of 140 individuals who were temporarily evacuated at St. Benedict and the Barangay Hall of Lazareto received hot meals as part of the continuing relief and support efforts for families affected by Typhoon Ompong.

This initiative was made possible through the joint efforts of Barangay Lazareto volunteers and the Sangguniang Barangay of Lazareto, under the leadership of Barangay Chairman Alma Lara Jamilla. Their dedication ensured that help reached those who needed it most during a time of uncertainty and displacement.

The distribution activity was further honored by the presence of Shell Pilipinas Corporation’s (SPC) Terminal Manager, Mr. Andoy Garcia Jr., and Terminal Operations Administrator, Mr. Reymond Hernandez, whose participation reflected the solidarity and compassion extended to the evacuees. Their presence underscored PSFI and SPC’s continued commitment to stand with local communities in times of crisis.

Through the collective effort of volunteers, local leaders, and partners, the residents of Lazareto were reminded that in the face of disaster, bayanihan remains stronger than any storm. Together, they continue to prove that compassion and unity can light the way even in the darkest of times.
