How Razzel Nailed Her Studies and Dreams with the STEP Scholarship

At just 22 years old, Razzel Mores has already proven that determination and creativity can open doors to a brighter future. A Science and Technology Education Program (STEP) scholar, she recently earned her degree in Bachelor of Industrial Technology major in Computer Technology from Batangas State University.

When the pandemic struck, Razzel feared her studies might come to an end. Determined to find a way forward, she turned her creativity into opportunity. She learned nail artistry and started offering affordable services to her classmates and friends, many of whom were graduating and eager to look their best. With her savings and gifts from her debut, she invested in tools and supplies and eventually launched her own Facebook page, Nailed It by Raz. What started small soon grew into a thriving business that helped finance her education.

Beyond easing her own financial burdens, Razzel’s motivation has always been her family. She now contributes to their monthly bills, showing her commitment to give back even while pursuing her own dreams. The STEP scholarship also played a pivotal role, especially in supporting her through her thesis.

“Akala ko noong una, financial support lang ang makukuha ko,” Razzel shared. “Pero mas nakilala ko ang sarili at mga kapwa scholars sa LEAD workshop.”

Through PSFI’s holistic approach, she gained not just financial aid but also opportunities for growth, mentorship, and character building. Her on-the-job training at Shell Import Facility Tabangao further enriched her journey. “Super saya po talaga ng experience. Naging close na namin ang mga taga-Terminal Office Admin,” she recalled.

Now that she has graduated, Razzel dreams of securing a stable job while continuing to grow her business. One day, she hopes to build her very own nail studio, a space where her passion and perseverance can inspire others.

For Razzel, the STEP scholarship was more than just assistance. It was the fuel that powered her dreams. With gratitude, she credits PSFI and Shell for shaping not only her career but also her character, helping her become a compassionate and driven young professional ready to contribute to her family and community.
