Turning Milestones into Momentum: Celebrating Progress in Pasacao

In Pasacao, Camarines Sur, milestones were not just counted. They were celebrated.

Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI), together with Shell Pilipinas Corporation (SPC), local government units, and community partners, gathered for the 2025 Culmination Day under the Pasacao Social Development Program. The event marked a year of shared effort across education, livelihood, road safety, disaster preparedness, and agricultural development.

More than a program closeout, the gathering reflected what is possible when partnerships move with a shared purpose.

Building Brighter Futures Through Skills and Education

Fifteen SKIL scholars were recognized for completing the Electronic Products Assembly and Servicing NC II program. Supported by CASIFMAS and the LGU of Pasacao, the scholars also underwent leadership and safety training, equipping them not only with technical skills but with the confidence to pursue employment, further education, or overseas opportunities.

Their achievement represents more than certification. It signals readiness for industry and the opening of new pathways for families and communities.

Growing Local Enterprises with Shell LiveWire

Entrepreneurship took center stage as seven community enterprises from Pasacao and nearby municipalities were recognized under the Shell LiveWire Program. After completing capacity-building workshops and pitching sessions, the awardees received livelihood grants to expand their operations and generate local employment.

From food services to agricultural and fiber-based products, these enterprises showcased the creativity and resilience of local entrepreneurs. With strengthened business foundations, they are positioned to contribute to a more vibrant local economy.

Promoting Safer Roads and Prepared Communities

Seventy students from Pasacao Central School completed road safety training under the BiyaHero Program, reinforcing safe practices among young pedestrians and future drivers. Road safety signages and tools were formally turned over to partner schools and LGUs to sustain awareness beyond the classroom.

Community preparedness was further strengthened through the RESCUE Program, which trained more than 80 volunteers, including barangay tanod and health workers, in first aid, basic life support, and emergency response. Fire safety and disaster response equipment were also distributed to enhance coordination and readiness during emergencies. These efforts help ensure that safety is not reactive, but proactive and community-driven.

Supporting Farmers Through Sustainable Partnerships

Culmination Day also marked a significant step for local agriculture, with a ceremonial MOA signing and grant turnover for the Itulan Farmers Association and Tapayas Farmers Association under the Shell Training Farm Bombon program. The partnership reinforces ongoing support for farmers through sustainable livelihood interventions, technical guidance, and resource access.

Celebrating Collaboration and Shared Impact

The event concluded with the awarding of Plaques of Recognition to LGUs, schools, cooperatives, and institutional partners whose collaboration made the year’s initiatives possible. Beneficiaries and partners shared stories of growth, opportunity, and strengthened community bonds.

As the day ended with fellowship and shared meals, the spirit of the gathering remained clear. While programs may culminate, partnerships endure. The work of building safer roads, stronger livelihoods, skilled workers, and resilient communities continues.

In Pasacao, progress is not a single milestone. It is a shared journey.
