PSFI Earns Dual Finalist Recognition at the 2026 CSR Guild Awards

On June 30, 2026, Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI) earned national recognition at the 2026 CSR Guild Awards after two of its flagship programs, Response to Community Under Emergency (RESCUE) and PROTECTS UPSCALE, were named finalists among a highly competitive field of entries from corporate foundations across the Philippines.

Held at The Westin Manila, the annual awards ceremony of the League of Corporate Foundations (LCF) celebrated outstanding corporate social responsibility initiatives that create meaningful and lasting impact in communities nationwide. This year’s awards attracted an impressive 102 entries, making PSFI’s selection as a finalist in two categories a significant milestone.

Response to Community Under Emergency (RESCUE) was recognized in the Outstanding CSR Project in Disaster Resilience category, while PROTECTS UPSCALE was named a finalist in the Outstanding CSR Project in Health category. Representing PSFI during the ceremony was Executive Director Sebastian C. Quiniones Jr., who also served as the presenter for the Outstanding CSR Collaboration Project award.

Receiving the finalist recognition for RESCUE were Ynna Lauron-Doblado, PSFI Program Manager for Shell Programs, and Beverly Berberabe, Social Performance Adviser for Downstream PH, Corporate Relations, Shell Pilipinas Corporation. Representing PROTECTS UPSCALE were Ray Angluben, Director for Global Fund Programs, and Dr. Loyd Brendan Norella, Program Manager for PROTECTS UPSCALE.

Being recognized as a finalist in two categories among 102 entries is a testament to the impact of PSFI’s work in communities across the country. The recognition celebrates the Foundation’s continued commitment to delivering innovative, community-centered programs that empower people, strengthen local systems, and improve lives.

Response to Community Under Emergency (RESCUE): Building Communities That Are Ready to Respond

Since its launch in 2020, Response to Community Under Emergency (RESCUE) has strengthened disaster preparedness by equipping communities with practical emergency response skills before disasters strike. Through hands-on training in basic life support, first aid, fire safety, and multi-hazard emergency response, the program has trained 4,079 individuals across high-risk communities, creating a growing network of community-based first responders working alongside local government units, the Bureau of Fire Protection, disaster risk reduction offices, schools, and community organizations.

Rather than relying solely on professional responders, RESCUE empowers ordinary citizens with the confidence and skills to act during the critical first minutes of an emergency. By embedding life-saving response capabilities within communities, the program transforms preparedness into action and strengthens local resilience when it matters most.

PROTECTS UPSCALE: Bringing HIV Services Closer to Those Who Need Them Most

Recognized under the health category, PROTECTS UPSCALE continues to transform HIV service delivery in the Philippines by bringing testing, treatment, and prevention closer to communities through trusted, community-led systems of care.

From 2021 to 2025, the initiative reached more than 935,000 individuals, diagnosed over 51,000 people living with HIV, and supported more than 34,000 individuals on treatment. In 2025 alone, PROTECTS UPSCALE reached 230,706 individuals, conducted 235,010 HIV tests, diagnosed 9,059 individuals, and supported nearly 98,000 people on treatment. These achievements demonstrate the program’s significant contribution to expanding access to HIV services, strengthening trust in community-based care, and improving treatment retention among populations previously underserved.

By integrating community leadership, strengthened health systems, digital innovation, and policy support, PROTECTS UPSCALE helps ensure that life-saving HIV services reach people where they are, in ways they trust, helping move the country closer to reversing the HIV epidemic.

A Recognition of Impact

The dual finalist recognition highlights the collective efforts of PSFI, its partners, local government units, community organizations, healthcare workers, volunteers, and beneficiaries in creating meaningful and sustainable change across the country.

As PSFI continues building strategic partnerships and implementing programs that address critical social issues, the Foundation remains committed to creating shared value and empowering communities to become safer, healthier, and more resilient. Whether preparing communities to respond to emergencies through RESCUE or expanding access to quality HIV services through PROTECTS UPSCALE, PSFI will continue driving solutions that improve lives and create lasting impact for generations to come.

Forty-eight caregivers in Pasacao, Camarines Sur successfully completed the Go Baby Go Training for Caregivers under the Roots to Shoots Pasacao 2.0 program of Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI). Implemented in partnership with Manila Water Foundation and World Vision Development Foundation, Inc., with the support of Metrobank Foundation, the initiative equipped participants with practical knowledge on child nutrition, responsive caregiving, and early childhood development to help build healthier families and more resilient communities.

PSFI and Shell Anibong Terminal Expand Brigada Eskwela Support to Three Schools in Tacloban

Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI), in partnership with the Shell Anibong Terminal, expanded its Brigada Eskwela initiative to three public elementary schools in Tacloban City, providing school supplies, classroom repair materials, school bags, and medical services that benefited dozens of students. With a total assistance value of PHP 46,500, the initiative reflects the partners’ continued commitment to creating safer, healthier, and more conducive learning environments for Filipino learners.

Roots to Shoots SACOBIA: Growing Food, Growing Futures in Bamban

With support from Bloomberry Cultural Foundation, Inc. (BCFI), Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI) is helping communities in Bamban, Tarlac grow more than vegetables through the Roots to Shoots SACOBIA Program by cultivating food security, healthier lifestyles, and hands-on learning through school gardens.

PSFI and SPC Support Brigada Eskwela Through Bayanihan Bulilit in Pasacao

Through the Bayanihan Bulilit initiative, Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc. (PSFI), Shell Pilipinas Corporation (SPC), and volunteers from the Shell Pasacao Terminal joined community partners to prepare Child Development Centers in Pasacao, Camarines Sur for the new school year. The collective effort provided learning materials, improved classroom facilities, and created better learning environments for 243 young learners.

Makulay Dahil Bahagi Ka: When Representation Opens Doors and Saves Lives

This Pride Month, PSFI celebrates Basha Cancillar, a community leader whose journey from a young volunteer to an HIV advocate is helping create safer, more inclusive spaces for people affected by and living with HIV. Through PROTECTS UPSCALE and partnerships with community organizations, Basha champions representation, dignity, and access to healthcare, proving that when people are seen, heard, and empowered, lives can be transformed.
